High & Lifted Up // Part 4 // Application

God demands that all the earth worship Him, and for many, that seems so selfish. Mockers have even asked if God has such a fragile self-esteem that if people don’t worship Him, He gets angry. Yet, think with me a moment on this statement: God has created us to be most full of life when our lives are most full of Him. To worship God is to affirm Him as our greatest priority. When we do that, we don’t worry as much, we don’t give in to temptation as much, and we don’t run after those things we think will make us happy, like fame, security, or beauty, to name a few. If you fall in love with someone, you want to tell people about it, you want to tell that person about it. When you have a great experience at a restaurant, you want others to go eat there, so you talk about it. That incredible vacation has to be told about. It is no different in our relationship with God. To worship Him is to tell Him and others how much we appreciate and love Him. How great He has proven Himself to be! So, how can we learn to do this together as a church? How can we be a church where God is exalted and truly worshiped? Come along with us as we learn to be a place where we can experience our God and return to Him our worship. A place where He is high and lifted up!
