Competency (This section describes your natural gifting and talents.)
What are your natural skills/talents?
-
I am a good listener and a lifelong learner.
Are you most comfortable behind the scenes or out in front?
-
Over the years, the Lord has made me comfortable in both.
In what ways has spiritual growth been evident in your life in the past 6 months?
-
The Lord has been taking me deeper into servanthood and obedience to follow wherever He may lead.
How do you see your natural skills/talents being used by God for the building up of the body of Christ?
-
In addition to the natural skills above, I have 24 years of experience in full-time ministry teaching, counseling, discipling, and doing whatever is necessary to shepherd His church for His glory. I would like to draw upon that experience in any way the Elders find helpful, and my schedule allows.
Chemistry (This section will help identify how well you will fit in with the culture of Cornerstone.)
How do you believe you will fit in well with our Board?
-
I believe I will fit in well with the Cornerstone Board.
Why do you want to join the Board?
-
I want to serve in whatever way would be helpful to Cornerstone.
How do you see yourself best serving at your campus?
-
I believe that there are many ways I could serve my campus, such as greeting, but I would particularly like to serve in an area identified as a need by the Board. I'm available to preach or teach on occasion if that would be helpful to Cornerstone.
Capacity (This section identifies your bandwidth and how much you are able to take on.)
Do you work well with large groups, small groups? Older people, younger? Do you have particular passions for areas in our church (i.e., Elderly, poor, etc)*
-
I do work well with larger and smaller groups, and I believe I work well with older and younger people.
How important is Cornerstone in the midst of all that is going on in your life?
-
Cornerstone is important, though I do also have several other important priorities at this stage that limit my availability more than I would like at times (primarily care for elderly parents, a special needs son, and my day job).
Where have you served in our church previously?
-
I have served with my community group during the "Love Thy Neighbor" event and served food at the church picnic for the last couple of years. I also covered leading our community group a couple of times when our leader (Rich Lieberman) could not be there, and I covered the Sunday service at Chandler several times for Rich (not necessarily our church, but kind of an extension of our ministry).
